(WTNH)–Amity is going for an unprecedented fourth straight Class LL baseball title on Saturday. It won’t be easy. Standing in their way is a Fairfield Warde team that has been through a lot in a short period of time.
Two weeks ago, the Mustangs’ home field was vandalized. Warde, which worked all season to get home field advanatage in the postseason, had to play all of its games on the road.
It didn’t faze them too much, as the 10th-seeded Mustangs won four straight games to reach the final. They’ve given up just five runs total in the process.
They won’t be intimidated by Amity.
“They’ve won three [titles] in a row, but we’re hungry. We want ours too,” said junior Giacomo Brancato. “We’re coming. We’re giving it 110 percent this game.”
