(WTNH)–Geno Auriemma and the U.S. women’s national team will make a stop in Connecticut before heading to the Olympics in Brazil this summer.

Team USA will host Canada as part of a four-team exhibition series at Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport on July 29. The game tips off at 7:30 p.m., and will be preceded by Australia vs. France, which tips at 4:30 p.m.

The series will continue at Madison Square Garden on July 31, and in Houston on August 2.

“This tournament with Australia, Canada and France, three of the top teams in the world, is an incredible opportunity for our team to prepare for Rio,” Auriemma said in a statement. “I think each of these games will be competitive and be a really, really good preview of what you’ll see in August at the Olympics. Two years ago we were able to play games at Delaware and Bridgeport, and the fan support at both of those games was tremendous. Then when you add Madison Square Garden into the mix, what better way to give our team a final send-off before Rio?”

Geno is 23-0 overall with Team USA, and has won two world championships (2010, 2014) and an Olympic gold medal.

Five former Huskies–Sue Bird, Diana Taurasi, Tina Charles, Maya Moore, and Breanna Stewart–are on the roster for the U.S.

The Americans have won five straight Olympic gold medals. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
