Red-hot Notre Dame-West Haven looking for sixth state title Saturday

(WTNH)–The Green Knights of Notre Dame have saved their best for last, winning six straight games to end the regular season. Counting the postseason, ND has won 12 of 13.

It’s pretty good, considering that just a month ago, they were 6-8.

“Coach Martone just sat us down and told us to be patient and that these games will come and we will find our way in the end and thats what we kept doing every since,” said senior Dylan Reynolds.

Head coach Don Martone knows a thing or two about winning.

The second-year head coach helped the Green Knights win it all back in 1985, and now he’s trying to lead the program to a sixth state championship.

“Just to be a part of the tradition of the program, I feel like its the right passage for me to keep moving this program in a postive direction. I feel like its a calling in life of some sorts in a strange way,” he said.
