(WTNH)–Former UConn guard Sterling Gibbs has been added to the Washington Wizards summer league roster, according to SNYTV’s Adam Zagoria.
Gibbs, who joined the Huskies as a graduate transfer for one year, averaged 12.3 points and 2.3 assists last season. He played at Seton Hall and Texas before coming to Connecticut.
The 6-2 guard doesn’t appear to have typical NBA size or athleticism, but he is a streaky shooter who can get hot and put up a lot of points. Gibbs shot 38.7% from the field and from three-point range last season.
Washington’s SB Nation blog, Bullets Forever, reports that Gibbs is the only point guard on the Wizards’ summer league roster so far.
