(WTNH)–Two Hartford Yard Goats players are moving on up, one of them to the big leagues.
Former Yard Goats outfielder David Dahl, who spent the majority of the season with the Double-A club, was called up by the Colorado Rockies on Sunday.
The 22-year-old Dahl hit .278 with 13 homers, 21 doubles and 46 RBI for the Yard Goats this season. He was one of six Yard Goats players to be named to the Eastern League All-Star team last month.
Closer Matt Carasiti, who grew up in Berlin, was given his promotion on Monday, moving up to Triple-A Albuquerque. The former Berlin High School star was also an Eastern League All-Star, and led the league with 29 saves.
The 25-year-old was the only Connecticut native on the Yard Goats roster.
