Former UConn Husky playing for 4th Olympic Gold

STORRS, Conn. (WTNH)– This weekend the WNBA went on Olympic break, Team USA huddled up out West to get ready for the games in Rio. Geno Auriemma and the American ladies don’t have much time to prepare for a run at a 6th straight gold medal. Fortunately, for Auriemma, he is working with the female version of the Dream Team which includes 5 former UConn Huskies, led by the oldest of the bunch Sue Bird. The 35 year old is playing for her 4th Olympic Gold Medal.
Bird is having one of the best seasons of her career, Auriemma says not playing overseas this off-season helped Bird stay in top form.
