Hamden’s CJ Seaforth verbally commits to play basketball at Iona

(WTNH)–The high school basketball season is still months away, but on Monday, we got some big news from one of the top players in the state, senior-to-be CJ Seaforth of Hamden High.

The talented Green Dragons guard has verbally committed to play college basketball at Division 1 Iona. The Gaels won the MAAC and reached the NCAA Tournament last season, losing to Iowa State in the Round of 64. Fellow MAAC schools Fairfield and Quinnipiac also offered the 5-11 point guard a scholarship, but he chose to take his talents to New Rochelle, New York.

Hamden fans will be able to watch their star play when he makes returns to Connecticut twice a year in league play.
