ALS ClinicALS Clinic at the Hospital for Special Care in New Britain, Connecticut, will be the primary beneficiary

CROMWELL, Conn. (WTNH)- On Sunday a champion will be crowned at the Travelers Championship. The real winners though will be Jay Fishman and Brian Savo. An unlikely couple, the two man from different worlds have joined forces to help raise ALS awareness. Fishman the former C.E.O of Travelers was diagnosed over 2 years ago, Savo has been afflicted since 2009. The pair has spent the week working the grounds at TPC River Highlands inspiring others afflicted with the vicious disease. On Friday, a sold out dinner gala in Hartford raised over 1 million dollars for research and care for ALS patients and was attended by 40 pro golfers. Bubba Watson made a 100 thousand dollar donation to the cause. ALS Clinic at the Hospital for Special Care in New Britain, CT, will be the primary beneficiary of this years Travelers fund raising effort. Fishman and Savo are making the most of a bad situation.
