UConn basketball stars set to return for Jim Calhoun Charity Classic

(WTNH)–Every couple of years, the best of the best former UConn basketball players make their way back to Connecticut. They come from all over to help out their former coach Jim Calhoun.

It’s a weekend of fun that includes golf, and the main attraction, a charity basketball game. Chances are most of the big names will take part Friday night at Mohegan Sun. Ray Allen, Kemba Walker, Caron Butler, Andre Drummond, Richard Hamilton–the event never disappoints.

This year, some former UConn women’s players will also take part.

Proceeds from the event are donated to cardiac research. The event takes place Friday, August 12 at Mohegan.
