Fairfield Little Leaguers take on Massachusetts with trip to New England championship on the line

(WTNH)–The Fairfield American Little Leaguers are just a few wins away from the Little League World Series.

Fairfield-American’s All-Stars beat New Hampshire, 17-11, in a New England Regional quarterfinal on Thursday, setting up a date with a team from Wellesley, Massachusetts, on Friday.

If Fairfield wins that game, they’ll advance to the New England championship, which will be held Saturday, August 13 at 1 p.m. in Bristol.

Warwick, Rhode Island has already clinched a spot in the New England final after beating Scarborough, Maine and Wellesley, Massachusetts.

Fairfield’s game against Wellesley is set for 1 p.m. at the Bart Giamatti complex in Bristol. The game will be televised by ESPN.

The New England champion advances to the Little League World Series, which begins August 18, in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
