(WTNH)–Connecticut sports fans will never forget the magical run Kemba Walker had at UConn. He put Jim Calhoun’s Huskies on his back in 2011, en route to a national title.
Walker was back in town this past weekend, helping his former college coach with his charity weekend. Kemba has five NBA seasons under his belt. He’s become the leader of an improving Charlotte Hornets team, whose owner is Michael Jordan.
They’ve gone at each other on the court before, with MJ helping to mentor Walker. But can His Airness guard the patented Kemba step-back?
“I’m not sure about that. I don’t know about right now. Two decades ago maybe,” Kemba said.
Walker says he loves playing for Jordan.
“MJ is my guy. He’s really fun to be around. He’s an unbelievable owner. I remember before going to the organization, seeing really bad reports about him, but man, you can never judge a book by its cover.”
“I don’t think it’s everything I thought it would be, it’s everything I dreamed it would be,” he said.
