(WTNH)–He’s got one of the highest GPA’s on the UConn football team, not to mention the entire athletic department.
When he chooses to leave football, Obi Melifonwu will have a bright future outside of the game. His first job out of college though, will likely pay millions. He’s the latest in a line of NFL talent born in the Husky secondary.
“Obi is the best safety in the country, period,” said UConn head coach Bob Diaco.
Born and raised in Grafton, Massachusetts, Melifonwu has the athletic gifts to be a first-round NFL Draft pick.
He’s 6-3, 220 pounds, and can move.
