Take a ride in a stock car at Thompson Motor Speedway

THOMPSON, Conn. (WTNH) – Today we’re Cruisin’ Connecticut, to “The Racing School” at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park.

Now is your chance to rev it up in stock car, and live a day-in-the-life of your favorite NASCAR stars… or Ricky Bobby from ‘Talladega Nights.’

The Racing School owner, Rick Nelson says the driving experience is just as fun for his drivers as it is for the customers:

The best thing about this business is that we show them a fun time. They come here and if you’re going to leave with a frown on your face, then I can’t make you happy.
As a former competitive racer in his own right, I asked Nelson if the drivers stay buddy-buddy once they hit the track:

Racing? Not really. We call it checkers or wreckers. I mean you’re going for it. You certainly aren’t going to pull over just because he’s your buddy.
Nelson says he’s worked hard over the years on putting together the best team to ensure safety and fun:

Mostly everybody that works with us at the track is a racer or has been affiliated with racing for a long time.
I took a spin in the passengers seat. From the g-force, to the burnout at the end of our ride… it is certainly a ride I will never forget.

Ready to hop in the drivers seat, or just take a ride? Check out The Racing School for yourself!
