(WTNH)–It’s no surprise that Breanna Stewart has made the transition to the WNBA look easy. On Tuesday, the former UConn great was named Rookie of the Year by the Associated Press.
The No. 1 overall pick in this year’s draft by Seattle, Stewart averaged 18 points and 9 rebounds per game for the Storm. She was also named first-team All-WNBA.
Los Angeles Sparks guard Nneka Ogwumike was named the league’s MVP. Her sister Chiney of the Connecticut Sun was voted the league’s Comeback Player of the Year.
