(WTNH)–The Yale football team got whallopped in its season opener last week against a very good Colgate team, losing 55-13. The Bulldogs did take some positives from the loss, though.
On Tuesday, head coach Tony Reno left no guessing who the week two quarterback will be.
Junior Rafe Chapple is his starter going forward. Chapple got off to a great start last week. His first pass of the game was an 11-yard touchdown. He shared the QB duties with two others in the opener, but this week at Cornell, he’s the starter and he likes the way that sounds.
“It sounds great,” Chapple said. “It’s something I’ve been dreaming about since I committed to Yale. Just being able to step on that field and lead that offense, it’s a lot of responsibility, but I’m excited for it.”
“He’s one of those guys who puts the ball where it needs to be, he makes good decisions, he’s a good leader, so I’m excited to see him move forward,” said Reno.
