Two of nation’s best wideouts, Norwalk’s Noel Thomas and West Haven’s Ervin Philips, go at it in UConn-Syracuse game Saturday

(WTNH)–This weekend’s UConn-Syracuse football game will feature two of the nation’s top wide receivers–and they’re both Connecticut kids.

Noel Thomas of the Huskies and Ervin Philips of Syracuse both rank in the top 10 nationally in catches through the first two games. Thomas has hauled in 26 balls for an average of 11 yards per catch, while Philips has 30 receptions for 234 yards and two touchdowns.

UConn hopes to get Thomas in the end zone more. The Norwalk native has just one touchdown grab on the year. He certainly has big-play capability, though.
