Quinnipiac women’s ice hockey unveils new uniform

HAMDEN, Conn. (Sportzedge) — The Quinnipiac women’s ice hockey team has officially opened the 2016-17 season. It’s a new year for the Bobcats, but that also means a new look as the team unveiled their new home white uniforms on Saturday.

This marks the second consecutive season that the Bobcats have unveiled a new home uniform. Last year, QU introduced a new gold uniform and this year decided to overhaul its home white uniforms.

The new uniform has made gold a primary focus with the names and numbers one the back now in gold with blue trim, along with the captain’s patches on the front. The numbers on the back are also larger, making it easier for fans to spot.

The sleeves have been changed to feature two thick blue and yellow stripes, with a smaller yellow accent stripe near the glove. White numbers with gold trim on the blue stripe really pop and make it easy to see. The new socks mirror this shoulder design starting from the top and going white, blue, yellow, white, and yellow down toward the skate. The gold also is prominent on the top and bottom of the uniform with a yellow stripe wrapping the bottom and a gold collar around the neck.

One of the biggest changes from last year’s white uniforms is the logos. The shoulder logos have gone from the leaping bobcat through the Q logo with just the leaping bobcat without the Q on the new uniform. The primary logo has also changed to match the blue and gold uniform. Now the uniform has Quinnipiac’s primary logo with the swiping bobcat.

What do you think of the new Quinnipiac Women’s ice hockey uniforms? Do you like them better than last year’s white uniform?
