Cianfarano Wins it in Overtime for Quinnipiac

ERIE, Penn. (WTNH) —¬†After 60 minutes of play against the Mercyhurst Lakers, the Bobcats found themselves in a scoreless teams as the teams took to the ice for overtime. Quinnipiac would prevail thanks to T.T. Cianfarano who netter the game winner with 2:09 remaining in the overtime after being set up by Sandy Hook’s Melissa Samoskevich.

It was a huge win for the Bobcats who improve to (5-1-0) on the season. The team came into the weekend undefeated and were ranked second in the country. However, Friday saw the Bobcats fall to the Lakers 3-2, and Saturday saw the Bobcats just over two minutes away from a win-less weekend.

Quinnipiac kept battling, as goaltender Sydney Rossman played superb in between the pipes earning her fourth shutout of the season and now finds herself just four shutouts away from the program record.

Cianfarano’s game winner was her sixth goal of the season and she now ranks second in program history for game-winning goals with 15.

Quinnipiac will return to action next week to battle Boston College with a home-and-home series with the Bobcats traveling to Boston on Friday and then hosting the Eagles on Saturday.
