Hamden native, Kings goalie Jonathan Quick out 3 months with groin injury

(WTNH)–Hamden native and Stanley Cup-winning goalie Jonathan Quick is out indefinitely after undergoing a “non-surgical procedure” for a lower-body injury, the Los Angeles Kings said on Wednesday.

Quick sustained what is believed to be a groin injury in the first period of the Kings’ season opener against the San Jose Sharks on October 12.

Kings general manager Dean Lombardi told the L.A. Times that Quick will be out for “about three months.”

The 2012 Conn Smythe Award winner and Vezina Trophy finalist last season played high school hockey for Avon Old Farms in Avon, Connecticut.
