(WTNH)–Wesleyan and Trinity could be playing for a conference title soon.

Check out a Wesleyan game on a Saturday afternoon and, if you’re a high school football fan in the state, you could hear some familiar names. Like, Mark Piccarillo, formerly of Shelton, Dario Highsmith of Middletown or Devon Carrillo of Middletown.

If they handle their business this weekend at Williams, the matchup with Trinity on November 12 could be for the conference crown. Wesleyan coach Dan DiCenzo is in his second season with the Cardinals. He says he likes having a local flair.

“We feel we’ve got some really good players out of Connecticut and the high school coaches have been real supportive of what we’re doing here. And it’s great football in Connecticut, There’s great high school football here in Connecticut so we try to keep the best talent we can right here,” DiCenzo said.

Wesleyan takes on Williams Saturday at 1 p.m.
