(WTNH)–Every once in a while, sports gives you a moment that hits you right in the heart. This one happened a couple weeks ago in Madison.

The town’s 8th grade football team, with the support of the Southington team, provided one young man with Down syndrome the moment of a lifetime.

Willie Wilson, an 8th grade student and Madison’s #1 fan, has been going to games since 4th grade. He’s always leading the crowd, bringing signs and participating with the cheerleaders.

In the final game of the year, after getting his uniform at practice and sleeping in it helmet and all, he was named captain for the day.
