Brandon Jacobs visits video game buddy Griffin Lynch on Senior Night, but Foran beats Branford, 42-12

(WTNH)–What a Senior Night it was for Branford quarterback Griffin Lynch. Former Giants running back Brandon Jacobs flew up from Atlanta to support the kid he met playing video games on line.

“I think Griff was nine or ten years old, I was playing Call of Duty, and this little kid came (online) playing with me, and he happened to be a Giants fan,” Jacobs said. “I just played with him every day, and every day as he’d gotten older, we exchanged numbers. I kept up with him, talked to him, and he even came to my retirement party. I look at him like my little brother.”

So what’s Jacobs’ all-time record against Lynch?

“While he was younger, I used to tear him up pretty good, but as he got older, it got easy for him because he cared more about it than I did,” Jacobs said.

How cool is that? Foran did win the game though, 42-12. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
