Xavier coach Sean Marinan resigns; won five state titles in 15 years

(WTNH)–One of the state’s high school coaching greats is hanging it up. Xavier of Middletown’s Sean Marinan has resigned after 15 years on the Falcons’ sideline. He’s also given up his teaching post at the school.

What a run Marinan has had at Xavier. Five state championships, with the last coming just two years ago. His teams were always in contention, and finished No. 1 in the state on a few occasions.

Marinan produced a ton of college-bound talent as well in his time at Xavier. News 8 reached out to him for comment, but he had not returned our calls as of publishing time.
