Ansonia football is back (again), and ready for another playoff run

(WTNH)–The Ansonia Chargers are back in the state playoffs. What else is new? You can almost set your watch by it. Year in and year out, Tom Brockett finds a way to get his team back.

The Chargers are the 2-seed in the Class S bracket, after another perfect season (10-0). They don’t rebuild in Ansonia. They just reload.

“Our kids have done a great job, obviously we lost a lot [from last year], we didn’t make any secrets about it, but the way our kids responded, they’ve given us a great effort to get where they are right now,” Brockett said.

The Chargers and the Stafford Bulldogs will kick off Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. at Jarvis Stadium in Ansonia. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
