Valley Regional football looking to continue recent run of success, takes on St. Joe’s in semifinals

(WTNH)–The semifinals are set in the high school football playoffs. In Class M, top seed Valley Regional will play St. Joe’s of Trumbull.

It’s been quite a run for Tim King’s Warriors. Valley won it all in 2014, and this year, the Warriors are 10-1 after beating Berlin in the quarterfinals on Tuesday night.

What would it mean to get back to the title game?

“Oh my gosh, it would be awesome,” said head coach Tim King. “You know, you don’t get many chances. Next year will be the 50th year of Valley football and this is our 5th playoff. So, you know you do the math and all five of them have been basically in the last seven years.”

Kickoff in Deep River is set for 6:30 on Monday night. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
