(WTNH)–Kia Nurse had been on the verge of breaking out. We all knew it was coming.

Poor DePaul.

Last night was the night. Nurse had 24 in the first half against the 15th-ranked Blue Demons. She finished with a career-high 33.

Nurse nearly automatic from the floor, shooting 12 of 16. Half of those makes were threes.

From the tip off, you could tell it was going to be a special night for Kia. Not so much during shootaround, though.

But Geno Auereimma helped out.

“I had a great coaching moment, I was really proud of myself,” Geno said. “I told her you have two choices: either make them or stop shooting them, period. And then she started making all of them.”
